Gwinnett County firefighters fought a large business fire Friday night in Peachtree Corners.

Gwinnett Fire Lt. Jerrod Barrett said the fire broke out around 9 p.m. at Impressive Ideas, a rubber stamping and scrapbooking business located in the Sterling Center at 6395 Spalding Drive. An adjacent business, Pet Boutique Too (a pet grooming business), also caught fire.

No injuries were reported and no animals were inside the pet grooming business at the time of the fire, Barrett said. Impressive Ideas was open when the fire broke out; all those inside were evacuated.

The fire closed the intersection at Spalding Drive and Holcomb Bridge Road while the blaze was being fought.

Witnesses said they saw flames coming from the roof before firefighters were dispatched at 9:10 p.m.

“The fire was so large that crews had to utilize 3 aerial ladder trucks to knock down the bulk of the flames from above,” Barrett said in an email. “Once the main body of the fire was knocked down, crews were able to extinguish the rest of the flames with attack lines.”

Fire agencies from Sandy Springs (one fire engine and one quint ladder truck) and Roswell (one fire engine) assisted in the battling the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started on the roof, but the cause was still being investigated, Barrett said.
