Fire Sparked by Grill Damages Sugarloaf Country Club Home
The blaze was reported around 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Gwinnett Fire said.
A fire that apparently started near a propane grill in an enclosed back porch heavily damaged a home at Sugarloaf Country Club Sunday morning.
No was injured in the accidental fire around 10 a.m. at 2786 Eudora Rail, fire officials said.
Gwinnett Fire Capt. Jerrod Barrett said two college-aged students were at home at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed.

Barrett said crews arrived to find the large two-story house with heavy fire involvement on the side of the house.
“Firefighters quickly deployed attack fire hose lines to extinguish the flames,” Barrett said in a news alert. “Firefighters did an excellent job attacking the fire by utilizing a transitional fire attack. Home sustained significant damage to the first floor. Fire was kept to the original structure; fire did not affect any surrounding houses.”

The occupants were cooking with the propane grill when it caught fire and spread to the house.
The fire displaced four people, Barrett said.
