Former Deputy Accused of Having Sex with Gwinnett Inmate
Lisa Ziglar was jailed after indicted by grand jury; she had been investigated since February after report of alleged misconduct.
A former Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested and charged with sexual assault, accused of having sex with an inmate at the county jail.
The AJC reported Lisa Laverne Ziglar was arrested after being indicted by the Gwinnett County grand jury under a new law that makes it a felony for deputies and inmates to have consensual sex.
Ziglar, who is being held without bond in the county jail, is listed with a Duluth address, according to jail records. She was booked into the jail around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Ziglar had been on administrative leave since February, when the sheriff’s office received a tip concerning the alleged sexual relations. She has since been fired.
