Gasoline Prices Near $4 Mark

Hurricane Isaac is being blamed on the recent increase at the pumps, but how high will gas prices rise?

Drivers in Peachtree Corners were feeling the pain at the pump on Wednesday afternoon.

The cost of a gallon of gas has been steadily inching its up over the summer. Prices at the Peachtree Corners QT on Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Parkway at 2 p.m. were edging up to the $4 mark for a gallon of regular gas.

According to a report on WPXI.com, a news station in Pittsburgh, "Gasoline prices have risen in recent weeks because of the higher oil prices and refinery problems in the Midwest and West Coast. At $3.75, the national average is at its highest level since May 9 and it is up about 42 cents from the low reached on July 2."

In July 31, the average gas price in Atlanta metro area was $3.52 - as of Aug. 29, 2012, the cost has risen to $3.95 per gallon.
