GCPS Expects to Add 800 Teachers for Next School Year

Gwinnett County Public Schools GCPS will hold a Certified Teacher Career Fair Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Gwinnett Center, located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.

The school district expects to hire around 800 new teachers for the 2014-15 school year to replace retiring teachers and add staff for growing enrollment.

Interested applicants should visit the GCPS web site gcpsjobs.org to register to attend the fair, as there are a limited number of interview times available.

Those selected for an interview will receive email confirmation.

GCPS are looking for educators who hold certificates or will be certified by the fall of 2015 in the following areas:

Critical Teaching Fields

  • Mathematics, (4-8), (6-12)
  • Science, (4-8) and Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (6-12)
  • Special Education – All Areas (P-12)
  • Speech & Language Pathology
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Technical Specialists: IT Programming, Computer Science, Engineering, and Health Occupations
  • Elementary with endorsement(s): ESOL, Reading, Gifted, Math, and Science
  • Elementary with language proficiency in Spanish or French
