Georgia Gwinnett College Extends Deadline for Fall Applications

Expected to enroll an estimated 8,000 students this fall, GGC has moved the application date to July 1 and has added another Open House program.

There is good news for Peachtree Corners' recent high school graduates who have yet to decide on a college, has extended its deadline to apply for fall 2011 classes. The new date is July 1, according to a news release issued last Thursday.

"We have received an unprecedented number of applications, far beyond what we saw last year at this time,” Stas Preczewski, vice president for academic and student affairs, said in the release. “We want to be sure that all prospective students have a chance to submit their applications.  In particular, many first-generation college students may need more time to deal with what is an unfamiliar process.”

GGC also announced an additional open house program to assist college-bound students in learning more about the college.  Both open houses will include tours of the campus with stops in the college’s recently opened student center, library, learning center and student residence halls.
