Get Ready to Vote

For anyone new to the community of Peachtree Corners or living within the city limits of Berkeley Lake, the deadline to register to vote is quickly approaching.

Tuesday, Oct. 11 is the deadline for voter registration. Gwinnett County's website provides step by step instructions.

And if you're not going to be able to vote in person, you may also request an Absentee Application Form on the county's website.

You can also find your polling place for the upcoming election by visiting the My Voter Page (MVP) at the Georgia Secretary of State website. The MVP website provides the following information:

• Voter registration status
• Mail-In application and ballot status
• Poll Location
• Early Voting Locations
• Elected Officials
• Registration information on file with the county office
• Sample ballot for the upcoming election

To register to vote you must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be a legal resident of the county
• Be at least 171/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote
• Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
• Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge
