'Good Samaritan' Tries To Break Up Fight, Gets Shot
The victim is in critical condition after the shooting at a Peachtree Corners bar, police say.

Peachtree Corners, GA — A man who tried to intervene in a fight outside a Peachtree Corners bar Saturday was shot in the head, police say.
According to police, Thomas Rushworth, 45, of Duluth, stepped in to try to break up a fight between two couples in the parking lot of Tavern at Medlock, located at 3230 Medlock Bridge Road.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1 a.m., where witnesses told them that two couples were having a heated argument in the parking lot.

"At some point, the victim intervened in the altercation and was shot in the head," Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Deon Washington said.
Rushworth was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The suspect in the shooting is described as a black male, about 20 years old, standing 5 feet 6 inches with short dreadlocks. He was last seen running toward The Country Club Village apartment complex behind the tavern.
Police are asking anyone who has information about the shooting to come forward.
"This is a very unfortunate situation, and detectives are working very hard to apprehend the suspect who committed this senseless act of violence," Washington said.
