The Gwinnett District Attorney’s Officer said Arion Henderson was found guilty in a jury trial this week on charges of murder, felony murder and aggravated assault. Judge Karen Beyers sentenced him to life in prison without parole.

Henderson, 19 at the time of the crime, was accused of stabbing to death his grandfather, William Andre Stridion, 59, in January of 2012 after the grandfather had kicked him out of the apartment a few weeks prior, the DA’s office said in a Friday news release.

Stridion was a partial quadriplegic whose body was discovered in the apartment during a welfare check by the Gwinnett County Police Department after a friend could not reach him for several days .

Patch previously reported police found the grandfather’s body around 11 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2012 at the Valencia Apartments on Peachtree Corners Circle. The body was wrapped in a blanket.

“Police were responding to a phone request from friends of his who said they had not heard from him in a few days,” police told Patch at the time. “Mr. Stridion suffered from various medical conditions, and they were concerned.”

Police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent but appeared to be suspicious. Later, the Medical Examiner confirmed the man had been stabbed.
