Gwinnett County Schools Not Closing Early
Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton have all announced plans for early closures due to winter storm.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Gwinnett County public schools will not dismiss early on Friday, school administrators said.
A Facebook post Friday morning confirmed the decision, which is in contrast to many neighboring school systems.
“We are having school today,” the post reads. “We will continue to monitor the weather and if a decision is made to dismiss early we will communicate that via news, web, and social media.”

The same winter storm system expected to clobber the northeast on Friday is forecast to bring as much as two inches of snow -- as well as freezing rain and sleet -- to parts of metro Atlanta. The worst of the winter weather, however, isn’t expected until later in the day.
Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb and city of Atlanta schools all had announced plans to close early by Friday morning.
