Gwinnett is Great: School System Shares Broad Prize

GCPS, a winner 2010, is co-winner with Orange County, Fla.

Gwinnett County Public Schools will share the prestigious Broad Prize for Urban Education, and the million-dollar reward that comes with it.

Gwinnett and Orange County, Fla., are co-winners of the award sponsored by the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. The award is given to large, urban school districts for excellence in overall, low-income and minority student performance.

It is the second time Gwinnett has won the award. The system won in 2010 after being named a finalist in 2009.
