Gwinnett Honors 9/11 Heroes with Thursday Ceremony

A brief ceremony is scheduled at 9 a.m. Thursday in Gwinnett to remember the tragic events of 9/11.

The 9/11 Public Safety Memorial Service will take place at Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial, located at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville.

The public is invited.

Members of the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Gwinnett County Police Department, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department and Lawrenceville Police Department will be in attendance.

The service will include presentation of colors by the honor guard, bagpipes, comments from fire and police officials and placement of a wreath on the memorial wall.

It will end with a radio announcement via the fire dispatch channel and a moment of silence.
