Gwinnett Pizza Spot Named One Of Nation's Best

DULUTH, GA — More and more food lovers are coming to the realization that some of the best pizza in the country is right here in Gwinnett County.

O4W Pizza, in Duluth, has been honored twice in the past week by national publications rating its pies as some of the best in the United States.

Last week, renowned food-guide Zagat named O4W one of its "15 Must-Try Pizza Joints Across The U.S." Then, days later, food site The Daily Meal included the restaurant in its "101 Best Pizzas In America For 2017."

Owner Anthony Spina, a New Jersey native, first brought his Jersey-style, thin-crust pizza to Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood in 2015. "The thin-crust, squared-off Grandma pizza remains the star at the new location," Zagat wrote in its listing. "Made in a scorching hot cast-iron pan with a simple garlicky marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, pecorino cheese and fresh basil, the Grandma delivers a dozen squares of crisp, savory and iconic goodness — go with someone who won't fight you over the crispy, charred-cheese corners."

The Daily Meal, which ranked O4W No. 97 on its list, had similar praise for the restaurant.

"(W)hile you have to raise an eyebrow and have a little chuckle about a Georgia pizzeria doing Jersey-style pizzas and being known for a pizza that originated in Long Island, New York, there’s nothing funny about how good this pizza tastes," the site says. "They’re guaranteed to impress even the most prideful New Yorker."

O4W Pizza is located at 3114 Main St. in Duluth. Their hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12:30-4 p.m. and 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
