Gwinnett Warrant Sweep Arrests Dozens, Discovers Pot Grow House

Gwinnett County law enforcement agencies arrested 81 wanted suspects, served 103 warrants and discovered a marijuana grow house during a three-day warrant sweep this week.

Warrants ranged from recorder’s court violations to drug manufacturing, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

In all, 60 to 75 officers from the Gwinnett, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Suwanee, Duluth, Snellville and Norcross police departments, as well as from the sheriff’s office, Georgia Department of Pardons and Paroles and the Gwinnett Metro Drug Task Force participated in the sweep May 12-14.

The sheriff’s office said additional arrests are expected after the discovery of the grow house.

“It’s always good to join forces with multiple agencies to achieve a common goal for the good of our community. Not only is the additional manpower an asset, it provides the opportunity for local law enforcement agencies to strengthen their working relationships, which also benefits the community,” stated Major Kirk Williamson, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Field Operations Division Commander in the news release.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office provides warrant service for all law enforcement agencies in Gwinnett County. Our Field Operations Division serves approximately 3,000 warrants per year.
