Hastings Garden Center Moving to Peachtree Corners

Well-known plant nursery is relocating its flagship store from Atlanta to our neighborhood.

In 1889 Mr. Harry G. Hastings moved from Florida to Atlanta to establish one of the first mail order nurseries. Atlanta seemed just the place to be with the many railroads converging here. Thus began Hasting Nursery.

Things have changed a lot since then, but there must be something working well at Hastings since they’ve been in business for over 100 years. And now we don’t have to drive down inside the Perimeter to enjoy this establishment.

After 15 years at its Peachtree Road location, and before that many years on Cheshire Bridge Road, Hastings is glad to be moving north. Scott Pluckhahn, garden designer, says that, “so many of our new neighbors here in Peachtree Corners were already coming to our previous store, that when we decided to move, this was the first place we thought of.”

Through the years families have enjoyed certain things about the Hastings store such as the fish, turtles, a train garden and free popcorn and all of these attractions will be at the new store.

This new Hastings location will be offering some new and unique art and gardening products. They have landscaping materials for do-it-yourself gardeners and as well as a full service landscape design department.

The new store is on the rise and you can see it one block off of SR 141 just behind the Chick-fil-A shopping center. At this time there isn’t a set opening date but Peachtree Corners Patch will annouce the future opening date as soon as we know it.

Pluckhahn says that they’ll open as soon as “they’re ready and perfect.” He adds that they’re very glad to be a new addition to the Peachtree Corners area.
