'Holidays Around the World' is Theme for 2nd Christmas in the Corners Parade

It’s parade time in Peachtree Corners. The 2nd annual Christmas in the Corners Holiday Parade is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 and this year’s theme is “Holidays Around the World.”
The parade route runs along The Corners Parkway and winds past Woodhill Drive, finishing up near Holcomb Bridge Road. There is plenty of parking but come early to ensure a good spot to watch the Norcross High School Marching Band, lots of floats, dance groups – and of course Santa Claus.

“This is a wonderful community event for children and adults alike,” said Mayor Mike Mason,who will be riding atop the horse-drawn Wells Fargo Stage Coach this year. “I hope every resident makes the Peachtree Corners Holiday Parade an annual tradition.”
Also look for the City Council, some will be riding in vintage cars while others will be walking in the parade. Parade goers will enjoy seeing Chopper from the Braves, Chick-fil-A’s dancing cow, cheerleading, soccer and karate groups, floats of all kinds and plenty more.

Make plans to stay all day. The holiday event runs from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. You can shop at the numerous arts and craft booths at the Village Shoppes, and enjoy a variety of food choices from the Food Trucks. The Pinckneyville Middle School Chorus and Norcross High School Orchestra will also be performing.
After the parade, children can visit with Santa on Candy Cane Lane. Photos with Santa are also available for $6.00. And there will be a special shopping area just for kids to buy gifts – all priced under $10.
This year’s grand marshal is retiring Gwinnett County Police Chief, Charlie Walters. CBS-46 reporter Adam Murphy, a Peachtree Corners resident, will be the parade announcer. For more parade information, visit www.christmasinthecorners.com
