Illness Forces Paul McCartney to Postpone Philip's Arena Show

Paul McCartney is still coming to Atlanta. It’s just going to take a little longer than expected.

A virus McCartney caught while touring in Asia has forced the re-scheduling of several U.S. dates on his “Out There” tour, including June 21 at Philip’s Arena in Atlanta.

The show has been re-scheduled for Oct. 15.

Philip’s Arena said in a press release tickets from the postponed date will be honored.

McCartney, who last played in Atlanta in 2009, said in a statement:

“I’m sorry but it’s going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again. I’m feeling great but taking my docs’ advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon.”

McCartney, 71, also postponed multiple shows recently in Asia because of the illness. He was to restart the tour on June 14, in Lubbock, Texas, Radio.com reported, but decided to take extra time. Seven U.S. dates had to be re-scheduled.

The tour will resume on July 5 in Albany, N.Y.
