The Importance of Being Earnest by Atlanta Peach Realty, LLC

In general, it is paramount to nurture and keep the relationships you build to be successful in business. Relationships drive repeat and new business opportunities. In residential real estate, the relationships we forge with buyers and sellers are even more critical because of the very personal nature of buying and selling homes. Because of this, Atlanta Peach Realty REALTORS® must be the kind of people capable of establishing close personal relationships and also caring enough to maintain relationships over time. We must have a serious and sincere desire to build a relationship and be a valuable industry ally for the client. In short, to be successful, we simply must be earnest!

There are many studies done around how quickly the human brain makes a decision about another person’s character when they first meet. Whether you believe the studies that say it takes less than a second or those who say we have up to seven seconds, the point is, it’s fast! We can all see the proverbial “used car salesperson” coming a mile away. When you’re in the market to buy or sell something as valuable and personal as the place you live, you want to work with someone you know you can trust. Clients can quickly determine the sincerity of the real estate agent with first impressions but there are many things the agent must do beyond the first impression to truly create a relationship and become the trusted ally.

REALTORS® must be responsive to client’s questions and requests. Real estate is a very busy business, that’s true, but with today’s technology it is easier than ever to be in close contact with clients at all times. And I do mean ALL times! Real estate knows no standard business hours and time is always of the essence. When submitting an offer at 11pm today versus the next business day could mean the difference of winning or losing a deal, you can’t chance having an agent who isn’t willing to call you back and work after hours. Real estate transactions can also weigh very heavy on a person’s mind and Realtors should be available to provide counsel or answers when needed.

REALTORS® must also provide honest and meaningful feedback to the clients throughout the relationship. REALTORS® are a valuable intermediary in making a real estate deal successful through negotiations and coordinating all the various people and tasks needed to get a deal done. A great agent will constantly keep you informed and keep all sides of the transaction transparent on exactly what is happening so you never feel isolated and in the dark.
