Only one unit sustained fire damage, Barrett said, but many others were damaged by smoke and from checking for fire extension into walls and ceilings.
Cause of the fire is determined to be accidental. The occupant was using lacquer thinner in close proximity to the gas stoveβs pilot light causing the fumes to ignite.
