Intoxicated Woman Set Bed On Fire Twice: Authorities
The Gwinnett County woman was found lying in the road outside her apartment, fire officials said.
DULUTH, GA — A Gwinnett County woman was arrested for arson on Thursday, after fire officials say she set her bed on fire then lay down on the road outside her apartment.
Eunok Yu, 38, of Duluth, was intoxicated and had set the bed on fire as part of a domestic dispute, according to Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge.
Firefighters responded at 11:21 a.m. to a 911 report of an apartment fire at the Bridgewater Apartments at 1599 Ridge Brook Trail near Duluth. They arrived to find that the fire — on a mattress in the bedroom — had already been put out by the apartment's sprinkler system.

No one was in the apartment at the time and smoke alarms in the apartment appeared to have been removed, Rutledge said. Investigators were called due to the suspicious circumstances.
During the investigation, Yu, who fire officials described as intoxicated, was found lying in the road on Satellite Boulevard near the apartment complex. She was determined to be an occupant of the apartment where the fire happened.

She was taken into custody on a non-fire related charge and booked at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. She admitted to having set the same bed on fire about a month ago, Rutledge said, though there are no fire or police records of that incident.

Fire officials say Yu had soot on her clothing and hands and said she lived at the apartment with her husband, who was not at home at the time of the fire. She was charged with first-degree arson, a felony, and additional charges may be forthcoming, Rutledge said.
