Kids Train for Triathlon at Fowler YMCA
The Peachtree Corners facility is offering a 10 week free program for members and non-members ages 6-15.

Swim, bike, run is as easy as one, two, three with a little time dedicated to proper training. And with three sports rolled into one, itβs three times the fun!
Fowler Y is holding a youth TriathlonΒ Training Clinic which is aΒ 10 week free program for members and non-members ages 6-15. The program is designedΒ to train kids in the fundamentals of triathlons, so they can participate in the Atlanta Kids Triathlon on Sunday, August 25Β at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center.Β

Swimming is the first leg of triathlon. Learning how to swim properly extends beyond training for a race. Kids need a strong background in swimming for basic water safety, and it is an effective cardiovascular workout that benefits the whole body.
Riding a bike is second. Learning to properly ride a bike is a healthy pastime that kids will never outgrow.Β Β Some of the health benefits include strengthening the hearts, lungs and lower-body muscles and bones.Β Β

Running is the thirdΒ and final leg of the race.Β Β As one of the most basic forms of exercise, runningΒ helps to strengthen a kid's heart, circulation system and muscles.Β Β And, the American Heart Association points out that running releases mood-enhancing chemicals in the body known as endorphins, boosting your kid's overall happiness.Β
