Laptops For Learning Awards Computer to Pinckneyville Middle School Student

Pinckneyville Middle School Student Wins Laptop Computer

In May, Alexis MacSheen, a student at Pinckneyville Middle School in Peachtree Corners, was awarded a new laptop computer by Laptops for Learning, a non-profit organization run by area teens. Laptops for Learning was established to raise funds for the purchase of a laptop to be presented to a local sixth grader who has succeeded academically despite facing hardship. Each Pinckneyville sixth grader submitted an essay in class describing why he or she should win, and Ms. MacSheen was unanimously chosen by the Pinckneyville faculty. Teachers agreed that this student was most deserving due to her steadfast hard work and positive attitude. Laptops for Learning hopes to encourage high achievement and enthusiasm for learning in the community by continuing to offer this essay contest on a yearly basis.
