'Light Up The Corners' Race Coming August 13

Runners are encouraged to brighten themselves up for the "twilight trot."

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA β€” Soon, runners are going to be making things a little brighter in Peachtree Corners.

Light Up The Corners, described as "a glowing, flashing, blinking, shining, night time running party and fundraiser in one," is set for Saturday, August 13.

All proceeds from the event go to programs and activities at the Fowler YMCA designed to benefit less fortunate children and families in the community.

There will be two events: a four-mile run and a more casual "Twilight Trot."

The trot will begin at 8:30 p.m. and the four-mile run at 9 p.m.

Everyone from serious runners to casual walkers is invited to participate, and encouraged to wear as much shiny gear as possible.

The course will be lined with blinking lights to illuminate the way and awards will be given for the "glowiest" men, women, boys, girls and teams.

Packet pick-up, on Friday, August 12, and race-day registration will be next to New Balance at The Forum, 5161 Peachtree Pkwy., Suite 615. It will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday and 6-8:45 p.m. Saturday.

There will be a post-race party with live music, food and drinks.
