Lionheart Theatre serves up backstage hilarity

"Moon Over Buffalo" opens Sept. 12

β€œMoon Over Buffalo,” written by Ken Ludwig, is a show for people who love theatre tradition, theatre people and theatre fun. The screwball farce serves up situation comedy, shtick, sexual innuendo, mistaken identity, sword play and slapstick.

In β€œMoon Over Buffalo,” Charlotte (Tanya Caldwell) and George Hay (Jerry Jobe) are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac β€œrevised, one nostril version” and Noel Coward’s β€œPrivate Lives,” when they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: legendary director Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee…hilarity ensues.

The Lionheart set boasts five doors, setting up gag after gag of botched exits, over dramatic entrances and squished noses.

β€œMyrna brings her own special flavor to every play she directs,” said Tanya Caldwell, Lionheart’s Producing Artistic Direct and who plays the female lead of Charlotte in β€œMoon Over Buffalo.” β€œAudience will feel a certain warmth that comes for her direction, as well as high quality.”
