Man Arrested, Charged in Peachtree Corners Shooting Death

A man has been charged with murder and a woman is dead after a domestic-related shooting Friday morning at a Peachtree Corners apartment complex, police said.

Gwinnett Police said in a news release the shooting was reported around 8 a.m. at Highland Lakes Apartments, located on Ashley Lakes Drive.
Police identified the victim as Lynett Karim, 29, of Peachtree Corners. Rickey Williams, 36, also of Peachtree Corners, has been charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault. He has been booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

A 911 caller reported a male and female were in the parking lot of the complex fighting. Gunshots were fired during the 911 call, police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said.
Police apprehended the man at the scene and found a deceased female in an SUV parked near the front of the complex.
Preliminary investigation indicates the two people knew each other.
