Man Guilty of Beating Woman Friend for Turning Down Sex
The Gwinnett DA's Office said Richard Gregory was charged with aggravated battery in the 2014 attack.

A Gwinnett County jury convicted a man this week for severely beating a woman friend in 2014 for turning down sex.
The Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office said Richard Gregory was found guilty on Wednesday for aggravated battery in the Aug. 17, 2014 attack on Karen Andrews, who was struck in the face several times, kicked after she had fallen and dragged across the driveway.
Andrews, who died on Dec. 6, 2014 of an unrelated cause, suffered an orbital blowout and fractured nose in the attack.

“The officer that responded to the scene noted that her left eye was bleeding and beginning to swell, and there was blood streaming from her nose. He also noted several visible bruises to her arms and legs. Ms. Andrews told the officer that this all began after she turned down his proposition for sex,” the DA’s office said in a news release.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 7.
