Man Robs Gwinnett Restaurant, Calls Employee 'Auntie'

An armed man robbed a Gwinnett restaurant Sunday, ordering employees in the back, calling one employee "auntie."

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA – An armed man robbed a fast food restaurant Sunday, stealing $400 and ordering employees in the back, telling them, "It ain’t your money, it’s the (slur)’s money," according to police. Gwinnett County Police detectives need the public’s help in identifying the robber.

Officers responded to the Feb. 18 robbery, at 7050 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Peachtree Corners, shortly before 10 p.m. Employees told them that a man came in with a handgun and demanded money.

The armed robber told employees to "shut-up” numerous times and then told them to get in the back of the restaurant, according to police. As they followed his directions he reportedly said, “It ain’t your money, it’s the (slur)’s money.” Police said he tells them “I ain’t gonna hurt you” several times.

He remained calm during the encounter and even referred to one of the employees as “auntie,” police said. He demanded the employee open the cash register and give him the money. When a customer pulled to the drive-thru, the robber thought the customer was calling the police and ordered the employee not to put the money in the bag out in the open. Once the money was placed in the bag, he fled the area.

Surveillance video of the robbery revealed the robber wore a camouflage bandana around his face, black skullcap, blue hoodie with distinctive white emblem, blue pants, black gloves and dark shoes. He was described as being about 6’ tall and weighing between 160-175 pounds.
