Man Shot, Killed in Norcross After Stopping To Help Friend
Police say Jimmy Rodriguez was driving on Saturday when one of two unknown men began firing into his vehicle.

NORCROSS, GA -- A man was shot and killed Saturday in Norcross after he stopped his car to try to help a friend who was in a fight, police say.
Jimmy Rodriguez, 18, was shot in the chest and died early Saturday morning after being transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.
At about 12:28 a.m. Saturday, Gwinnett County Police received a 911 call regarding a vehicle accident at 9908 West National Circle in Norcross.

When officers arrived they found that Rodriguez had been shot while driving his vehicle.
Two adult, male passengers in his vehicle were not hurt.

Police say Rodriguez was driving when he saw a friend at the intersection of Graves Road and East National Circle having a verbal argument with two men.
He turned his car around and approached and, as he did, one of the men began shooting into his car, police said.
Rodriguez was hit by at least one bullet, causing him to accelerate his vehicle and strike a parked car and a fence, according to police.
Detectives are working to determine the identity of the two men, who ran away.
"The senseless loss of life in this situation is very sad and unfortunate," said Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Deon Washington. "We ask for support from the community in this investigation and are hopeful that an arrest will be made quickly."
