Merge Lane From Peachtree Parkway To Ga. 141 Now Open

The new southbound lane in Peachtree Corners will address what had been a major headache for thousands of Gwinnett County commuters.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — A much-anticipated merge lane from Peachtree Parkway southbound onto State Route 141 is finally open.

The Georgia Department of Transportation, along with Gwinnett County's DOT and the city of Peachtree Corners, have just completed work on the merge lane. The project created an additional southbound ramp lane onto the controlled access portion of Ga. 141, creating an additional lane on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound to Winters Chapel Road.

For thousands of daily commuters, the intersection had been a major headache — requiring them to merge suddenly from two lanes to one.
