Moon Rock on Display at Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center

From now until Dec. 31, area residents can get a feel for what it is like to live on board the International Space Station.

The “Living in Space” exhibit at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center will allow visitors to learn what it is like to work, eat and play as an ISS crewmember in space. Stories and videos from actual ISS crewmembers will be part of the exhibit. Organizers hope visitors will learn more about the challenges and opportunities space exploration presents.

“The GEHC is so excited to host this exhibit as it inspires visitors to explore the frontier of space,” said Jason West, director of development in a released statement. 

During the exhibit, GEHC will also have several space-related artifacts on display including a space shuttle tile, shuttle foam, space food, an astronaut space glove, and, for a limited time only, a moon rock obtained by astronaut Dave Scott during the Apollo 15 mission.
