Jersey Mike's Subs Opening in September

The residents of Gwinnett County's newest city will soon have another dining choice - Jersey Mike's Subs is readying to open its doors soon.

Located in the renovated shopping center on S.R. 141 and Holcomb Bridge Road, the new eatery joins the recently re-opened and the new .

Owner Ron Bienvenue said Jersey Mike's will open its doors on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m.

"We're glad we're here," said Bienvenue who also owns and operates another Jersey Mike's franchise in Atlanta.

The restaurant undoubtedly is a welcome addition for Peachtree Corners residents who have enjoyed the a number of new dining choices since the first of the year and always seem to appreciate a new place to eat.

If you haven't dined in a Jersey Mike's, Bienvenue says you're in for a treat. "We're the Rolls Royce of the sub sandwich business," he said. We make everything fresh every day.

The meat used for the sandwiches are sliced fresh every day. "We don't pre-cut any of the ingredients. We cut onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles fresh every day," he added.

The restaurant also offers freshly made cookies, including chocolate chip, oatmeal, M&M, macadamia with white chocolate (my favorite) which are all baked fresh every day.

If Bienvenue sounds enthusiastic about his new store, that's because he is. The New Orleans native said he was sold on Jersey Mike's after the first bite of a Italian sub which he tasted at a location in Brookhaven.

"After tasting the sandwich, I couldn't wait to get back to make the call to the company to get started," he said.

The Peachtree Corners store will sport the company's newest decorating theme which includes a 10-foot surf board hanging on the wall along with a number of "Jersey Shore" themed art pieces.

Bienvenu said the three best selling sandwiches are the Italian sub, the club sandwiches and the Philly Cheese.

Of course, there's plenty of other choices, check out the full menu on the company's website. The company has been around since 1956, and started out as a one-shop operation in New Jersey when submarine sandwiches were a relatively new idea.

The new owner said he is looking forward to meeting everyone in the city. "We love giving back to the community, said Bienvenue who has already reached out to and invited the football team in for free sandwiches.
