New Peachtree Corners Business Combines Food Drive With Ribbon-Cutting

FastSigns opened its new location, on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, in February.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA -- When Ben Wilson moved his eight-year-old sign company from Norcross to Peachtree Corners, he wanted to do more than the usual ribbon cutting to commemorate the event.

So FastSigns, at 6760 Jimmy Carter Blvd., combined a food drive with the traditional ceremony, which was held Thursday.

Wilson and his staff began a drive to collect non-perishable food donations to benefit children at two local schools.

"About 90 percent of the local school children participate in free or reduced lunch programs, which makes summer the hungriest time of year," said Wilson. "With the community’s help, our goal is to help feed between 1,000 to 1,500 children this summer."

The food items collected were delivered to Peachtree Elementary School and Summerour Middle School.
