Norcross High Art Students Win Competitions
The Blue Devils' Art Department has been busy this spring preparing for the Student Art Show and working hard on a community service project.
Not too long ago, Lisa Sharpe, Gwinnett County Recreation Program Supervisor, contacted the Art Department to ask them to help with a new county project.
“We were preparing some corn hole games for special events throughout the county and also for a Corn Hole for Fun event coming up on April 28th," said Sharpe. "When we asked Martha Cook, the department head, if some students could paint the games they were all too willing to help out."
The five corn hole games were painted by the Norcross High School La Voz Art Club and the National Art Honor Society.

"We are extremely proud of the work our students have done on this community service project," said Cook. "They put in a lot of hours and worked very hard.”
Students who helped work on the Gwinnett County corn hole project are: Diane Guzman, Marizol Pena, Leidy Castro, Josselyn Garcia, Marilyn Carias, Astrid Cuellar and La Voz President, Alejandra Mejia.

When they’re not helping with a service projects, art students are busy getting their own art projects ready for the Norcross Cluster Student Art Show which is coming up on April 26th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
The show will be held at Norcross High School and the students' art work displayed on the walls near the art department. Some of the best student art work from Norcross High School and the cluster schools will be on display.
The cluster schools are Beaver Ridge and elementary schools and and Summerour middle schools.
“It is always an incredibly awesome art show," said Cook. "We hope you will put it on your calendars and come enjoy the amazing work our students have done this year.”
Come by to see this art show and bring along any budding art students that you know. You won’t be disappointed.
