A recent Norcross High School graduate has been named a winner of a College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship.

Clara Shu-ning Wang of Peachtree Corners was one of around 1,700 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities, joining the more than 2,200 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in late May.
Wang, who is receiving a National Merit scholarship from Vanderbilt, plans to study medicine, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation said in a news release.

Scholarship winners are awarded between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.
