Update: Lockdown Lifted at Norcross High School

School was locked down after fight in adjacent wooded area that may have included a weapon.

Norcross High School was locked down through the noon hour Thursday following a fight in an adjacent wooded area. There were reports a gun was possibly involved, but no weapon was found.

The school was locked down until around 1:30 p.m.

Norcross Police Capt. Bill Grogan told the AJC the school was locked down due to a fight in an adjacent wooded area that happened around 10:30 a.m. and may have involved a gun. One of the suspects was apprehended by a school resource officer after running inside the school.

Gwinnett Schools spokesperson Sloan Roach told the Gwinnett Daily Post that one suspect was apprehended inside the school during the lockdown, and another was taken into custody after being taken to the hospital.

Roach said a number of parents came to the school wanting to check their children out, the Post report.
