As Peachtree Corners first elected council members, we would like to inform you of our actions regarding House Bill 956.
In response to the overwhelming concern expressed by the citizens of our city, we directly contacted House Representative Tom Rice and Senator David Shafer, the two state officials spearheading this Bill.
Our position is that we strongly oppose the legislation, which ignores the powers of Peachtree Corners to act on its behalf in this matter. Our request to Mr. Rice and Mr. Shafer, as two elected city officials, was to prevent the bill from passing by any means necessary and to allow the city of Peachtree Corners to manage this issue on our own behalf.
With the current legislative session ending Thursday, March 29th we suggest that you contact each to voice your views.

Senator David Shafer: http://www.senate.ga.gov/senators/en-US/member.aspx?Member=42&Session=21
We will continue to personally reinforce our position directly to our state officials that this legislation is not in the best interest of the people of Peachtree Corners.
We would like thank both Mr. Rice and Mr. Shafer for their willingness to consider our request and their attention to this matter.
Respectfully,
City Council Member Elect - Phil Sadd, District 1
City Council Member Elect - Jay Lowe, District 2
