Peachtree Corners Backing Thanksgiving Food Drive
Volunteers are needed on November 22 for sorting and packing food boxes for needy families.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — The city of Peachtree Corners is joining several local organizations to provide Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.
Families already have been identified by local school counselors and will be receiving a basket with a turkey and nonperishable side dishes for the upcoming holiday.
Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m-noon on November 22 for sorting food and packing boxes. Volunteers also will be needed for the morning basket pickup, which will take place from 10 a.m.-noon, and an evening basked pickup from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Below is a list of grocery items needed to fill the baskets:
- Frozen Turkeys
- Vegetables (cans)
- Fruit (cans)
- Mac & Cheese (boxes)
- Gravy (jars)
- Cranberry sauce (cans)
- Broth, any kind (cans)
- Stuffing (boxes)
- Aluminum roaster pans
"We believe that meeting the needs of others exemplifies our mission and purpose in this community ... we don't talk about love, without demonstrating it," said Pastor Chinedu Akaelu of Dominion City Church in Peachtree Corners, one of the organizations participating in the drive.

Also participating in the drive are the City of Peachtree Corners, Heart of Dorcas Mission of Hope Inc., Norcross Police Department and Ivy League Pediatrics.
"We want to touch the lives of families in a way that lets them know they are cared for by the people in their own community," said Dr. Una, a pediatrician at Ivy League Pediatrics in Peachtree Corners.
Any excess food items will be taken to the Norcross Co-op.
