Peachtree Corners Councilman Quits to Run for State House
A special election to replace Jay Lowe will be held on May 24.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA -- A special election has been called to replace Peachtree Corners council member Jay Lowe, who resigned to seek a seat in the Georgia legislature.
Lowe was recognized at Tuesday's council meeting for his time serving.
"Jay has served on the city’s inaugural city council for over four years," said Mayor Mike Mason. "We have valued his leadership, insight and good humor that he brought to the council. We are certainly sorry to lose him but wish him well as he seeks a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives."

Lowe is seeking the House seat vacated by state Rep. Tom Rice, who announced in February that, after 20 years in the General Assembly, he would not be seeking re-election.
Peachtree Corners announced this week that a special election to replace Lowe will be held on May 24.
