Peachtree Corners Issues Proclamation Condemning Racism
The Peachtree Corners proclamation was submitted to the General Assembly as the city's endorsement of passage of the bill.

On Tuesday morning, July 23, prior to the Georgia General Assembly’s passage of a proposed hate crimes bill, Mayor Mike Mason issued a proclamation condemning racism and urging the Georgia General Assembly to enact hate crimes legislation. The Peachtree Corners proclamation was submitted to the General Assembly as the city's endorsement of passage of the bill known as House Bill 426.

Later that day, the Senate overwhelmingly approved the bill 47-6, followed by a House vote of 127-38.
The bill now goes before Gov. Brian Kemp for his signature. The governor is expected to sign House Bill 426 pending legal review.
