Peachtree Corners' Jobless Rate Remains Ultra-Low

The city had the second-lowest unemployment rate in March among GA cities with populations over 25,000.

The unemployment rate in Peachtree Corners fell one-tenth of a percentage point in March, according to preliminary figures from the state department of labor.

But the rate continued to be the second-lowest in Georgia.

The Georgia Dept. of Labor tracks unemployment rates of 36 cities in Georgia with populations of 25,000 or more. Peachtree Corners was added to the agency’s monthly data report earlier this year.

With a jobless rate of 3.0 percent — down from 3.1 in February — Peachtree Corners was second only to Brookhaven (2.7), according to estimates released by the labor department Thursday.

The unemployment rate in the city was 3.2 percent in January, and 3.3 in March 2014.

Gwinnett County’s rate for March was 5.3 percent; the metro rate was 5.9.
