Peachtree Corners Names City Manager Finalist

Brian L. Johnson has been manager in Anniston, Alabama, and Garden City, Georgia.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — Brian L. Johnson, the city manager in Anniston, Alabama, has been named the finalist for the same job in Peachtree Corners.

Johnson's background will be vetted, followed by a final vote by the mayor and city council. He would replace Julian Jackson, Peachtree Corners' first city manager, who announced in June that he is retiring.

Johnson has been city manager in Anniston for three years. Before that, he served as city manager of Garden City, in Chatham County near Savannah, for six years.

Johnson's background includes more than 18 years of management experience at the federal and local level.

Prior to the city manager positions, Johnson served in the U.S. Army from 2001-2005, in positions including company commander and chief of staff.

He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1995-1999, working as an intelligence analyst.

Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Georgia.
