> LCI Open House – Sept 8 – Recap

We had a terrific turnout. Thanks to all who participated. You can read more about the meeting and the study on our city web site. There will be another open house and presentation on November 13, 2014. Watch for updates.

> Planning Commission Meeting – Sept 9 – Recap

The Peachtree Corners Planning Commission recommended approval of the request from Crowell Brothers Funeral Home to install a crematory in their facility 4-0. You can view the application and staff recommendation here. This request will come to City Council at our meeting next month on October21.

I have not been able to respond to everyone who has e-mailed me on this issue. The response has been a bit overwhelming. I want to thank everyone who has contacted me to date. I encourage everyone to continue contacting the council, either with your support or opposition to this request.

I have attached the agenda. You can see the packet here.

Here are the highlights of the agenda

· We will have a vote to determine if there will be a referendum on the ballot in November to allow package sales in the city. If this passes, you will vote for this at City Hall, not your normal polling location. You will still cast your ballot in the county and statewide elections at your normal polling place.

· We will have a hearing and vote on a request from New Church of Atlanta, for a special use permit to expand church uses to an office building adjacent to an existing church and located on 2.9 acres at 2865 Amwiler Rd.

· We will discuss and have a vote to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Johns Creek for Routine Road Maintenance. We approve an agreement last month for the administrative services provided by CH2M Hill. This IGA is to provide the actual services.

· Diana Wheeler will present information on Life Cycle Housing and Economic Development as well as an update on the design for our gateway landscaping at the 141 PIB intersection.

October PCBA Business After Hours Networking and Charity Event presented by the PCBA Outreach Committee. This is a fun opportunity to network while supporting a great cause.

PCBA actively supports charities and non profit organizations within our community. In 2014, 25% of membership and annual sponsorships will be donated to support PCBA’s Community Outreach efforts. 100% of Lane Sponsorships, Raffles, and Silent Auctions for this event will also go to Community Outreach.
