Peachtree Corners Rotary Club Inducts Two New Members
The induction ceremony was held at the club's weekly meeting.
On Monday Peachtree Corners Rotary Club inducted two of its newest members. Fred Carroll and Judy Putnam were sworn in with the Rotary Club's The induction ceremony was conducted by Otis Jones, Rotary Club's Assistant Governor.
Peachtree Corners Rotary Club, founded in 1981 and part of Rotary Club International, is made up of a group of international business community leaders and is among 32,000 clubs located in over 200 countries.
The club meets each Monday at 12 p.m. in the Carlyle House in downtown Norcross. At the weekly meetings local business and community leaders are invited to speak during the luncheon.

Fred H. Carroll, Jr. is a transfer from the Midtown Atlanta Rotary club. He resides in the area and finds it more convenient to attend Rotary lunch meetings on Mondays in his local area. Since Rotary is an International Service club, a member can easily transfer his membership to any part of the world he happens to be living in.
Carroll is an employee of the Georgia Power Company and his
official title is “Senior Land Records Coordinator.” He has
been with the Georgia Power Company for the last 8 years. His prior jobs include Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners and Barrow County Board of Commissioners.

His many talents include experience with program management,
operations and research with public and private sector employers, including the coordination of disaster response teams and restoration crews. Developed trend-tracking and project management solutions using database programs, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other technologies for statistical and analytical research. He is an experienced researcher with a strong record of achieving goals and working well within a team environment.
One of his main community services is his involvement with the Cub Scouts. He is currently the den leader of Cub Scouts (Pack 575)
at Simpsonwood UMC. He also works with the Order of the Arrow and attends the district meetings.
He is the proud father of four children, ages 17 through 7. His previous knowledge and experience in Rotary will add to the guiding principal of Rotary, Service Above Self.
Judy Putnam is a new member to Rotary. She is the editor of the Peachtree Corners Patch and has already used her many talents in the
news industry to help Rotary have a more visible presence in the community.
With over 15 years as an experienced journalist, she joined
Patch in November 2010 after spending several years as editor and writer for a nationally distributed relocation magazine covering business, real estate, school and community news.
Her background includes 10 years as an editor and writer for several local golf publications where she covered both professional and amateur events throughout the state and as a freelancer for the AJC while attending college.
She graduated Georgia State University with a degree in journalism and a minor in American Literature. Putnam has lived in the Atlanta
metro area for over 25 years and currently resides in Duluth with her husband. They have two grown sons. When she's not reporting, you can find her out chasing a little white ball around the area golf courses.
Her energetic and vivacious personality will be a great asset to the club
