Peachtree Corners Teen Drowns In Lake Lanier: Report

The Peachtree Corners resident drowned Sunday night after diving off a dock on Lake Lanier, says media report.

HALL COUNTY, GA — Authorities have identified a teen who drowned Sunday night in Lake Lanier as a resident of Peachtree Corners, according to a media report. Hall County rescue personnel recovered the body of Stephen Frederick, 19, according to Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, a spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Frederick dove from the second story of a dock and did not resurface, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Responders with Hall County Fire Services arrived at the dock, in the 6700 block of Bass Circle, at about 9:20 p.m. They recovered Frederick's body in the water after about an hour of searching, the AJC reported.

Hall County sheriff's deputies and officers with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources also went to the scene.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident, the newspaper reported. Wilbanks said that an autopsy is pending.
