Peachtree Corners Unveils 'Dramatic' Bridge Design

The pedestrian bridge will cross Peachtree Parkway and connect to the new Town Center development.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA -- Peachtree Corners officials have unveiled plans for what they call a β€œdramatic” and β€œiconic” pedestrian bridge that will run to the new Town Center development.

The bridge, which was showcased at a meeting Monday night attended by about 120 people, will provide a walkway over Peachtree Parkway and connect Town Center with the The Forum.

β€œWe asked our engineers to design a bridge that was ’Innovative and Remarkable,’ which is the city’s tag line, and I think they captured it completely,” said Mayor Mike Mason in a news release. β€œI am also very pleased that this design has been so well received in the community.”

According to the news release, city leaders expect the bridge to not only provide a safe walkway, but to become a destination itself.

It will, according to its design, meander over a creek and botanical garden as it crosses Peachtree Parkway and include landscaping, park benches and other features.
