The National Weather Service has updated its Winter Weather Advisory for metro Atlanta.

The advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday along and north of a line from Carrollton to Atlanta to Washington. Up to 1 inch of snow/sleet and a tenth of an inch of freezing rain is possible.
The area includes Gwinnett County.

The timing in the Peachtree Corners area, according to the weather service forecast:
Tonight: A slight chance of rain, snow, and freezing rain before 8pm, then a slight chance of freezing rain and sleet between 8pm and 11pm, then a slight chance of snow and sleet after 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Saturday: A chance of rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1pm, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 50. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of the area north of the advisory area, with up to 3 inches of snow and a quarter-inch of ice possible.
