People Jumped from Windows to Escape Gwinnett Apartment Fire
1 person suffered minor injuries and 20 were displaced by the early morning fire reported at Sinclair Apartments near Norcross.
One person was hurt and around 20 people were displaced in an early Monday morning apartment building fire near Norcross.
The fire was reported around 2 a.m. at the Sinclair Apartments located at 2206 Park Colony Drive in unincorporated Norcross. Police reported seeing people βjumping from the second floor window,β according to Gwinnett Fire public information officer Lt. Jerrod Barrett in a news release.
One person was sent to the hospital with minor injuries, Barrett said. All occupants have been accounted for and no other injuries were reported.

On arrival, fire crews found a two-story apartment building with heavy fire on the second floor and flames showing through the roof. Firefighters quickly deployed attack hose lines and two aerial ladder trucks to combat the flames.
Eight units were heavily damaged. The American Red Cross is assisting those burned out of their homes.

The cause is under investigation.
