Planned Peachtree Corners Development Geared Toward Millennials
Twin Lakes will mix commercial and residential, while creating trails to Technology Park Lake for the first time.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA -- Peachtree Corners has approved a multi-use development the city is hoping will bring millennials to Technology Park.
Twin Lakes, a nearly 39-acre commercial and residential project featuring pedestrian trails around Technology Park Lake, was approved by city council at their meeting on Tuesday.
The project combines 10 parcels of land along Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Technology Parkway and Guthridge Court. As part of the project, the developer donated 13.5 acres of land to the city, which plans to develop the first segment of a public trail system.

“This is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting projects for Peachtree Corners,” said Mayor Mike Mason in a news release. “The donated land, valued at nearly $4 million, will allow our citizens access to a lake that, up until now, has not been open to the public and will contribute the first segment of our multi-use trail system that will eventually run throughout the city.”
The developer also agreed to contribute $42,500 toward the construction of the trails and a boat dock that will provide public access to the 15-acre lake.

The development includes a 295-unit housing complex beside the lake that will be designed to appeal to workers in Technology Park.
It will feature "resort style" amenities such as a pool, boat dock, paddle boats, hiking and biking, a cyber cafe, fitness facilities and a dog park.
Two retail stores -- a RaceTrac convenience store and a wine and liquor store, also are planned for Peachtree Parkway as part of the development.
Mason said he's talked with business owners in Technology Park who have said they'd need to move their businesses without new housing options for millennial employees.
"I’ve also heard from residents who wanted good quality rental housing for their adult kids so they could remain in Peachtree Corners, so this development will fill two very important needs," he said.
