Man Kills Nephew, Niece, Then Himself in Peachtree Corners Shootings

Two others — the man's grandmother and her sister — were in serious, but stable condition at the hospital.

Three people, including the alleged shooter, were killed and two others wounded Tuesday afternoon in what Gwinnett Police were calling a domestic-related double homicide in Peachtree Corners.

Police said Kayla Serrano, 13, and Andrew Mclean, 19, were shot and killed by their uncle Brandon Mclean, 30, who later died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Mclean was the son of Betty Mclean, 57, who also was the grandmother of the two teens. Betty Mclean and her sister, Charlotte Longnecker, 52, were both wounded in the shootings, which occurred around 5 p,m. Tuesday at a townhouse complex on Bannor Lane.

Police have not released information about motive, but said they do not believe there are any other suspects in the case.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said in an email that police found the five people shot inside a townhouse at 6505 Bannor Lane, near Peachtree Corners Circle when they arrived at the scene at 5:24 p.m.

“A male and a female, both estimated to be in their teens, were deceased,” Smith said in the email. “Two additional females were transported to a local hospital by ambulance, one in serious condition, one in critical condition.”

Brandon Mclean died at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Betty Mclean and Charlotte Longnecker were listed as serious but stable at Gwinnett Medical Center.

The AJC reported the 13-year-old was a student at Pinckneyville Middle School, where grief counselors were on hand on Wednesday. A Gwinnett Public Schools spokesperson told the newspaper Andrew Mclean was a former student in the county.

Police are continuing its investigation.

Police have identified the five people involved in Tuesday’s deadly shooting in Peachtree Corner, which killed three people, including the alleged shooter.

Police said Kayla Serrano, 13, and Andrew Mclean, 19, died at the scene. Brandon Mclean, 30, the uncle of both teens and the suspected shooter, died at Gwinnett Medical Center, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mclean was the son of Betty Mclean, 57, who also was the grandmother of the two teens. Betty Mclean and her sister, Charlotte Longnecker, 52, were both wounded in the incident.

The shootings occurred Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Bannor Lane.

Police said they do not believe there are any other suspects in the case.

Gwinnett Police said two teens were killed and three other people were injured — including the suspected shooter — in a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Peachtree Corners.

The fifth person, a man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition from what was believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

The motive was not immediately known, but detectives believe all of the people involved were related.

The identities of the alleged shooter and the victims have not been released.

Gwinnett Police say two people are dead and three others injured during a shooting incident Tuesday afternoon in Peachtree Corners.

Police said in a news alert around 6 p.m. that officers were on scene of the multiple shooting at 6505 Bannor Lane. This is a street off of Peachtree Corners Circle between Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

No other details were immediately known.
