Gwinnett Police say the assault was reported shortly before noon Saturday, July 11, at a Lawrenceville-area home, where a woman was working in her yard before the attack.
“The victim was bound and sexually assaulted during the attack,” Police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said in a Tuesday morning email.

The suspect is described as:

- Medium complexion
- Stocky 170lbs-180lbs
- Mid 30’s to early 40’s

Washington said the woman was able to free herself and called police, who canvassed the area and interviewed potential witnesses. The suspect has not been identified, however.
“This was a very unusual crime due to the time of day and brazen approach taken by the suspect,” Washington said. “Citizens should be very conscious of their neighborhoods and are urged to call 911 if they see anyone who is suspicious or matches the description of the suspect.”
